THE CINNAMON SNAIL’S TALE

Some say that it is little boys who are made from snips and snails and puppy dogs tails. They also say that little girls are made from sugar and spice. The Cinnamon Snail, a local vegan food truck has done a resounding job of putting what we all like together.

The three pastry gems in the photo came from the vegan food truck. They include a Basil, Thai Coconut donut, a Genmaicha Tea Glazed cake donut, and a Lavender Pear turnover. All sell between $2.00 and $3.00.

My daughter is a big fan of the food truck and is more than willing to stand in a long line waiting for the vegan food. “The Basil Thai Coconut donut is my favorite. It’s not overwhelmingly basil tasting, but sweeter.” She said and added, “My mouth is watering, just describing them to you.”

In addition, she ordered a Maple Mustard Tempeh Sandwich which she liked very much. It came on toasted spelt bread and was spread with a garlic aioli which she said added moistness to the sandwich. “It was worth the $8.00 in her estimation.

On an interesting side note, she was happy to tell me about her lunch and even allowed me to photograph it. She did not let me taste a bite. Looks like I’ll have to get in line with everyone else next week if I want to sample those donuts and they sure did look delicious. If you’d like to know more about what the twenty-something is thinking, you can read her blog, Maybe Lately. It’s an eye opener.
