At what point in the English language did lemons become a metaphor for life? Eggs in my opinion make more sense. My life has become scrambled, or things are going over-easy. Maybe life has become deviled or hard boiled? We’ll go with lemons though.
Who are the people in your neighborhood? It’s an old Sesame Street song but fitting, particularly on Halloween. Our neighbors host an annual party that brings out some ghoulish culinary moments.
Souvenirs: Some world travelers keep diaries listing places they’ve been and sights seen. Maybe the photos and words jar memories of happy times but sometimes an aroma or a taste of a meal shared with loved ones can also trigger those memories.
What better tribute is there than a continuation of your life’s work? At the third annual “Recipe for Success” gala — Culinary education foundation to benefit culinary arts students from the Jersey Shore — more than thirty local restaurants, many run by chefs who worked with Joe Romanowski, brought interesting and tasty dishes for guests to sample. Students from The Culinary Education Center prepared gourmet treats too. Here’s a glimpse of the tastes of the evening….
